Field Technical Support

Our team is expanding! We are looking for an experienced, committed, professional individual from within the drainage industry. Working with us you will enjoy and embrace being an important part of our company, its values and its future. If this sounds like you then please read on.

The Position:

We are looking for an experienced drainage professional who has spent time as a technician (or manager) and who has some proven experience in training others to join our team
as a new Field Technical Support person. This role will report into our Head Office but will require travel approximately 75% of the time, with the occasional need to stay overnight. The role will involve working closely with our network of franchisees around the UK.

We require someone who has previous experience working within the drainage sector who can provide immediate support to our busy teams. Our new Field Technical Support person will need to demonstrate their technical drainage capabilities on a
practical level and also be able to offer advice and training to the network.

We require previous experience in the following;

  • Cleaning drains using high pressured water jets
  • Unblocking drains using specialist equipment
  • Use CCTV surveying equipment and have knowledge of coding drainage surveys (across all manufacturer brands)
  • Experience in repairing or replacing broken drainage systems including patching and lining

This is a full-time, permanent position based out of our Peterborough Head Office, however there will be regular travel involved (75% of working week). A branded company vehicle will be provided to you with fuel card because of the nature of the role. You will also be expected to be on a call rota as part of an escalation process as part of the support function.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning drains using high pressured water jets
  • To manage the compliance and best practice of Health and Safety requirements.  
  • To build effective relationships with the franchisees in our network.
  • Work closely with the network to identify improvement areas and training needs.
  • To upkeep audits and site inspections, ensuring these are current, while policing Health and Safety compliances.
  • To help upkeep elements of the Operations Manual, working closely with franchisees to ensure it is trained and understood correctly.
  • Support franchise network in implementing and improving Health and Safety policies, best practice and risk management.
  • To share company Health and Safety requirements, ensuring compliance and continuous improvements.
  • Work with the franchisees to create regular training programmes.
  • Record and keep up to date all relevant training matrices.
  • Ensure your own personal training requirements are up to date.
  • Produce annual programme of toolbox talks, delivering to teams internally.
  • Using industry knowledge and experience, advise on innovations and new technology that may add value to the company.
  •  Continually assess systems of work and propose improvements where required.
  • Support (where required) in large scale project works and site supervision.
  • Ensure professional and timely answering of calls, emails and messages.
  • Upkeep and enhance the professional image of the company in line with brand standards.
  • Support Senior Management and Directors where required.

 Person Specification:

  • A minimum of 5 years drainage experience.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in training drainage techniques.
  • Holds an up to date HPWJ Certificate.
  • Full, clean drivers license.
  • Works well in a team but also has the
    confidence to operate and make decisions independently.
  • Strong sense of accountability.
  • Technically sound with good knowledge
    of drainage industry techniques.
  • Responsible for the safe delivery of services
    in line with legislative requirements and w
    orking in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.
  • Responsible for conducting identified and scheduled training within the franchise network. 
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Experience of managing processes, compliances and standards within a network.
  • Monitor competencies across the DALROD and provide documented evidence.
  • Support the delivery of company CCTV Survey reporting to meet DALROD Standards.
  • Support the network with aligned quotation and pricing, and be prepared to train.
  • Provide support to the network on a continuous basis written technical queries
  • Monitor and audit the network technical standards and driving improvements and completion of non-conformances
  • Keep updated all company technical / operational policies and procedures.
  • Deliver effective technical inductions and 4-week training to new franchisees.

Our fast-paced local service centres are always growing and we are keen to hear from people wishing to get into the industry. There may a centre near you looking to expand their team. You don’t need to have any previous experience as full training is always provided.

  • Flexible, positive can-do attitude
  • Full clean UK driving license
  • Ideally holds a HPWJ Certificate
  • Work minimum 5 days per week plus regular overtime available
  • DBS Disclosure Cert will be applied for on your behalf by DALROD
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Required to uphold the company’s high standards of customer service
  • A confident communicator with good attention to detail
