DALROD Leicestershire are extremely proud to have supported a fantastic new facility at Holmfield Day Centre, Leicester.
The unit called the ‘Reminiscence Village’ has been designed to provide a place of sanctuary to those living with Dementia. The detail that has gone into the 1940/50’s setting is quite remarkable, giving the visitors a sense of going back to a place they remember. The road has been transformed into a traditional High Street, with the bakery’s windows piled high with loaves of bread and meats hanging from hooks in the butchers it really does help re-live their fond memories and take them back to good times that feel so familiar. This is a quiet and reflective space for day visitors of Holmefield and their residents.
One of the visitors ‘Ron’ has been attending the centre since 1998, organisers thought there was no better person to name and open the new pub ‘Everyone’s Local’. Ron officially opened the pub to a great cheer from the crowd before sampling the first pint.
DALROD Leicestershire are extremely proud of the donation and help we provided NCHA (Nottingham Community Housing Association) in completing this excellent project.
