At DALROD, we’re proud of the people behind our business, and every so often, one of them achieves something truly exceptional.
This January, that spotlight belongs to Louie Kynaston, Business Support Assistant at our Peterborough Head Office, who has been representing Team GB Ice Hockey on the international stage.
Earlier this month, Louie travelled to Bucharest, Romania, as part of the Great Britain squad competing in the IIHF Under 20’s World Championship, Division IIA. Facing teams from across Europe in a fast paced, high-pressure tournament, the GB side delivered an outstanding performance – finishing the competition with a silver medal.
Balancing elite sport with a full time role isn’t for the faint hearted! Louie’s dedication, discipline, and teamwork on the ice mirror the qualities he brings to his role at DALROD every day. Whether supporting operations behind the scenes or competing at an international level, his commitment shines though.
Reflecting on his experience, Louie said:
“Representing the country is something I’ve worked towards for years, so to come away with a silver medal at a World Championship is incredibly special. The standard of play was high and the experience as a team was unreal. I’m really grateful for the support from everyone here at DALROD, it makes a huge difference knowing your workplace is behind you.”
The tournament itself was a true test of resilience and teamwork, with long days, intense matches and the pressure of international competition. For Louie and his teammates, the silver medal represents not just success on the scoreboard, but the culmination of years of training, sacrifice, and passion for the sport.
