On the 19th of March members of the DALROD team swapped their beds for sleeping bags to take part in a hugely important overnight event at Peterborough Cathedral.

The “Night in the Nave” sleepout brought together local businesses and individuals. Everyone shared a common goal to raise awareness and funds to support people facing homelessness.
Organised by The Light Project Peterborough, the event offered a small glimpse into the realities many people are facing every night.
A Night That Matters
Sleeping overnight in the cathedral brought a new insight and understanding to everyone who attended. It showed a glimpse into the challenges of rough sleeping and opened conversations over what can often be an uncomfortable topic.

Team members from Head Office and DALROD Peterborough stood alongside other local businesses in solidarity. The atmosphere was reflective, humbling, and deeply motivating.
Those attending included Managing Director, Dave Lane, along with colleagues Alex Gordon, Terri-Ann Stephenson, Jana Cecotkova, Jim Parrish, and Klaire Jones.
Each participant gave up a warm bed for the night. In return, they gained perspective and strengthened their commitment to supporting the local community.
About The Light Project
The Light Project Peterborough is a community focused charity supporting people experiencing homelessness and hardship.
Through initiatives such as this one, as well as other projects such as The Garden House, street chaplaincy, and emergency night shelters, they provide invaluable support.
Supporting Beyond the Event
DALROD’s involvement didn’t start or end with the sleepout. We were also proud to support the event through sponsorship.
This builds on previous support for the charity. At Christmas, DALROD donated clothing items to help those in need during the colder months. That earlier initiative formed part of an ongoing effort to give back locally. The Night in the Nave event is another step in that journey.

Standing With the Community
Events like this show just how important community action really is. They bring businesses and individuals together to support causes that truly matter.
Homelessness is a complex issue, but awareness is a powerful starting point. Fundraising events like Night in the Nave play a vital role in driving change.
DALROD is proud to stand alongside organisations like The Light Project. Their work continues to make a real difference across the region.
Looking Ahead
All our DALROD teams across the country are committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen local communities.
Taking part in Night in the Nave is just one example of that commitment in action.
