When our Oxford team received a call from a warehouse in Bicester, they were faced with a very common problem, blocked urinals. What seemed like a straightforward job quickly revealed a much bigger issue lurking beneath the surface.
Finding the Root of the Problem
On arrival, our engineer carried out a full inspection of the urinal trap and pipework. This revealed heavy deposits of uric acid, a thick, rock-hard scale that had built up over time. To make matters worse, the urinal blocks that had broken down were also contributing to the blockage inside the pipework.
This combination can cause unpleasant smells, poor drainage, and in severe cases, complete system failure when not dealt with promptly.
Restoring Free Flow
Our engineer got to work using specialist mechanical equipment to break down the stubborn uric acid scale. Once the deposits were removed and the pipes thoroughly cleared, the system was reinstated and flow tested. We were able to leave site with everything free-flowing and functioning as normal.
