As DALROD celebrates its 40th anniversary, we’ve taken a walk down memory lane, and wow, how things have changed!
From our humble beginnings in the 80’s to becoming a national name in drainage and pumping solutions, our story is one of steady growth, innovation and family values.
To mark this milestone, we’re sharing some amazing “Then and Now” photos that show just how far we’ve come, from vans to buildings to branding. Here’s a look at the transformation over the last four decades.
Then: The Classic Blue Van
Back in the day, our fleet was simple and recognisably blue (although our first van unit was a single silver van with separate jetting unit!).
Now: The DALROD van of today
Our modern vans are fully equipped, GPS-tracked and branded with our bold new look. They’re mobile tech hubs, not just transport.
Then: The Original Head Office
DALROD was originally based at the home of our founder, Walter Lane, and his wife Margaret. To mark the millennium, we moved to a larger, more dedicated unit just outside the city centre. This site had a modest façade, but it was home to big ambition.
Now: A Recognisable Hub of Innovation
Now home to DALROD Peterborough (we opened a separate dedicated site in 2015 to accommodate our expanding head office team), the building now has refreshed branding and updated facilities.
Then: One Team, One Area
Starting with a small, dedicated tam servicing a local area, DALROD was built on strong family foundations.
Now: A National Network of Local Experts
We now operate service centres across the UK, each one staffed by local experts with national backing.
Then: Drainage Only
Our early days focused on drainage solutions, from blocked pipes to CCTV surveys.
Now: Drains, Pumps and Pests, One Expert Team
With the launch of DALPEST in 2017 and DALPUMPS in 2024, we’re ready for any scenario, big or small!
40 Years Strong – and Still Growing!
