Building strong relationships with our customers is about more than delivering a great service. It’s also about being approachable and helping people understand exactly who is working in their community.
That’s exactly what happened when DALROD recently attended an event organised by Stevenage Borough Council.
Meeting The People Behind the Work
Held at The Cromwell Hotel, Stevenage Borough Council’s recent contractor day was part of the council’s ongoing social value commitments.
More than 3,000 residents covered by the council’s contracts were invited to attend and meet different contractors who all carry out work across their communities. Around 12 companies exhibited at the event. Representatives from a wide range of services were all on hand to answer questions and introduce themselves to local people.
DALROD was represented by Allan Zealey – Managing Director at DALROD Luton, as well as Bryan Lord and Hannah Wilson from DALROD Head Office.
Councillor Richard Henry, Leader of Stevenage Borough Council and Councillor Jackie Holywell, the Deputy Mayor also attended, highlighting the council’s commitment to engaging with residents and working collaboratively with their contractors to ensure the best possible experience for their tenants.
Supporting Long-Term Partnerships
Stevenage Borough Council is an important social housing contract for DALROD Luton.
Allan Zealey has built up an excellent working relationship with the council’s repair team who pass reactive drainage issues directly to the Luton team. This allows residents to receive a fast and reliable response when problems arise.
Meeting residents outside of a normal working environment gave us the chance to further explain our services and the role we play in keeping homes safe and functioning.
A Valuable Opportunity to Connect
The contractor day proved to be a fantastic opportunity to strengthen relationships with both local people and council representatives. Events like these demonstrate the value of working together beyond just day to day service delivery. They also show the importance of putting faces to the names behind essential maintenance services.
