You may remember last year DALROD Bath & Swindon took on a brand new employee! She was very small, very cute, had boundless energy and 4 legs, and her name was Amber.
Amber was the latest addition to the family team! James and Mandy wasted no time in inducting her into the family drainage business, and she had a lot to learn in a very short space of time! She may not have gotten everything right every time, but she certainly had a lot of enthusiasm (sometimes a little too much!)
We followed Amber closely in her early days as she went out and about in the DALROD van, experiencing life as a trainee. There were long days, cold weather and more drains than we could count!
How quickly time passes…..
As quick as a flash a year has passed by. Amber is now all grown up (and has more than doubled in size since the early days!). She is now a fully-fledged member of the Bath & Swindon drainage team.
Anyone working within the drainage industry will tell you that no two days are the same and Amber has picked up a lot of new skills.
In the last 6 months alone Amber has been involved in some really exciting projects. She has been given lots of experience in all the services that DALROD offer!
As her confidence has developed she has become involved in some of the more complex works that you might not consider a drainage company to be involved in.
There have of course been countless drain unblocks! No drainage company is complete without unblocking services. It represents a huge part of what we do, and helps us to uncover any larger issues for our customers.
Here is a run down of some of the other works and services DALROD Bath & Swindon have been a part of.
Drain lining and repairs: Helping to fix customers drainage issues with two tried and tested methods. Ranging from lining 4 metre lengths of drain to a project over 50 metres in length.
No-dig technology: Using the teams skills and equipment to re-round very old pitch fibre systems before new drain liners were applied. Avoiding excavations wherever possible to minimise disruption and cost to the customer!
Internal stacks: Thorough cleaning of scaled up internal stack pipes to avoid them having to be replaced. This service ensured that a series of both 3 and 4 inch pipes were fully cleaned out and were returned to full operational capacity.
CCTV drain surveys: As you can see from the picture below, Amber has become a real whiz at coding with the Wincan software!
We are looking forward to seeing what Amber gets up too in 2023!
