The Situation at the Property
The DALROD Oxford engineer arrived on site and immediately set to work inspecting four manholes. Both the front and rear areas were affected by sewage, causing understandable concern for the property residents.
We started with a standard clearance using rods, but the blockage wouldn’t budge. This meant something more serious was lurking deeper in the system.
Finding the Real Cause
Further investigation revealed the real issue was a few metres down the street. A nearby chamber was completely obstructed by wipes, and to make matters worse, hardened cement had set at the end of the lateral and within the channel.
This combination was restricting the flow and backing everything up towards the property.
Hands-On Expertise Saves the Day
Our engineer manually broke up and removed the hardened cement (not an easy job!). Once the obstruction was cleared, high-pressure water jetting was carried out both upstream and at the property’s manholes.
This resulted in every line flowing freely, with the system fully restored and the homeowner’s property back to normal.
